Sudan: Is Anyone Taking Any Notice?

Days after Google Earth began its campaign to "to build a community of conscience" poised to respond to the crisis in Darfur, the renowned photojournalist Don McCullin, who has visited Oxfam's work among Sudanese refugees in Chad, is hoping that his skills as a war photographer will also function as a catalyst for education and action.

As McCullin concluded his interview with the Ten O'Clock News last night, "We cannot turn our backs and sweep this under some stone."  Yet, on the basis of recent inaction by the UN and EU, to borrow the title of a book containing a collection of McCullin's photos, "Is Anyone Taking Any Notice?"
