Have Your Say

Caroline Spelman MPOn Thursday The Difference is interviewing Caroline Spelman, Chairman of the Conservative Party, for the next issue of the magazine and we've decided to a run it as a "10 Hot Potatoes" piece and get her to give a party line on the ten issues we think readers will be most interested in.

If you have an idea for a topic that's current but slightly different to the norm (i.e. not "should we pull out of Iraq", although we'll probably ask that) then do let us know in the comments.

Is the Party still the proper home for people who subscribe to Michael Ancram's "simple political creed"?

Should we be looking for ways to claw back sovereignty from Europe, and if so how?

Why has the Conservative party become lukewarm on the issue of the EU Referendum?

This is open goal territory but lately the Conservatives have been conspicuous by their absence.

Is it because this is seen as a win-win situation for Mr. Cameron in that (a) if GB yields on the referendum, he will be seen to be weak and to have given in to the Tories (b) if he refuses he will be seen as a dishonourable shyster, but (c) the Conservatives do not really want a referendum because the result might be such a large majority against the treaty as to raise the whole issue of the principle our membership of the EU all over again, a perceived nightmare the Tories prefer not to contemplate?

At a time when Michael Ashcroft is assuming so much power and influence in CCHQ over campaigning and organisation, has this diminished your role as Party Chairman?

What can the Conservative party do to stay in the news and stay making the news. The recent high-profile coverage of the party has wiped out Gordon Brown's ten point lead in the polls. Now it is important that the Conservative party stay in the news, every day until the next general election. How can this best be done?
